Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 9 year old son felt extremely faint this morning (during, orchestra, while standing for awhile), lay down for awhile, felt better, returned to class, then had a full torso rash later in the day. (may have been exposed to a different type of shower soap the night before). Are these related?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If he is itching due to the rash then it may be an allergic reaction to the soap but if there is no itching then it is possible that the symptoms are due to a viral infection. Viral infections can cause a rash, called a viral exanthem and would also cause the faint sensation that he experienced. You can monitor to see if he continues to feel unwell.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
