What Causes Dizziness And Sensation Of Vibration Over Head?

I have a history of vertigo. Lately, when I am waking from sleeping, I feel this senstation like coins being shaken in a metal jar on the top of my head. There is a slight bit of dizziness, too. Nothing, however, like the vertigo I have had in past episodes (full on amusement park ride that lasts for days but is triggered by head movements). I also did not have the coins in head symptoms in the past, either. So, this feels different from vertigo. Any thoughts?? Sometimes it feels like there is a metal taste in my mouth, and a metalish sensation across my face, too. I am not on any medications, or was I recently, so this is not some withdrawal from something. I rarely drink, also, and it is on or two. Thanks.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to an inner ear disorder. For this reason, I would recommend consulting with an ENT specialist and performing labyrinthine tests. It is also necessary checking thyroid hormone levels, because thyroid gland dysfunction can mimic this clinical situation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
