What Causes Dizziness And Severe Headaches?

My husband has had sinus trouble for as long as I have known him,60 years. He gets dizzy, sometime for weeks at a time. If he bends over it takes at least a day to regain his balance. He has intense headaches. He has been o Dr. after Dr. and had surgery for a deviated septum. He has been on one medication after another. Is there a Dr. out there that can help him? He is 71 now and this problem coupled with getting old is just misery for him.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The inner ear infection can cause frequent vertigo of peripheral type.

His Otoscopy and detailed ear evaluation need to be done by an otorhinolaryngologist.

It's advisable to check his blood pressure and sugar as well for primary workup.

The low dose steroid can be prescribed If Labyrinthitis like inner ear infection is the cause suspected by an otorhinolaryngologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
