What Causes Dizziness And Tingling Sensation In Fingers After Drinking Alcohol?

I was fishing on river in Montana, temp in mid 80 s. I d consumed several beers and was smoking a cigar. All of a sudden my fingers begin to tingle and I felt dizzy and weak. Needed to rest lying down, not moving for 45 minutes. Breathing was quick and deep. Took me about 4 hours to fully recover. Was this heat stroke?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Sudden Tingling sensation in fingers, Dizziness, weakness, and slow but deep breathing after consumption of Alcohol; is highly suggestive of hypoglycemia shock. Due to heavy consumption of Alcohol and cigarette smoking probably create sudden fall of blood sugar level and shows such kind of symptoms.
You should consult your primary physician and get your fasting and postprandial blood sugar done. You should get done serum lipid profile, complete blood count, LFT, ECG and chest X-ray as well. Thorough clinical examination with mentioned reports are important in your case.

Thanks & Take Care,
Dr. Suraj D.
