What Causes Dizziness And Tinnitus In Ears Post Exposure To Water?
Dear Sir/madame, When entering the water, water comes into my right ear and experience instant dizziness/spinning. After 2 attempts, I avoid any further contact with Water. I have been to 3 doctors saying that my eardrum is just fine. Not perforated or anything. Details: -Experience no pain or discomfort. -Popping/clicking sounds from time to time. -No hearing loss -The right ear does smell stronger then the other (decreasing) -Eardrum is intact -Air is released through the right ear after applying from the inside. -Tinnitus from both sides (decreasing) How is it possible that water can still enter when the eardrum is intact? Much appreciated, Rijder Nelissen
Tinnitus is not a disease in itself but it is a symptom that indicates that there is some underlying illness.
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Audiometry, x Ray MRI can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.
In case if ringing does not resolve then you can be advised medicines like Tricyclic Anti-depressant like Amitryptiline, anti anxiety medication like Alprazolam, as well as Multivitamin supplements can be advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein
