What Causes Dizziness And Tiredness Upon Alcohol Consumption?
I drink once a week only. One bottle every sunday. After drinking, my arms feel weak and it s like, I can feel some nerves twitching inside of me. I also feel dizzy and very tired. I ve read about muscle degeneration that s correlated to heavy drinking but I m not even a heavy drinker. Is my body not accustomed to drinking even just the smallest amount of alcohol? I m pretty fit for I workout regularly, sleep well, and eat well.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. Drinking one bottle per week is a bit too much and can amount to heavy drinking. The symptoms what you are experiencing could be primarily due to Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) deficiency, along with other related vitamin deficiency. You need to drastically reduce the quantity of alcohol intake and supplement with multivitamin capsules containing Thiamine regularly for about 3 months. Gradually, your symptoms would become better and overcome it. In case you continue to drink and ignore by taking proper medication, it may affect your peripheral nerves as well as central nervous system, resulting in a condition called Wernike-Karsakoff's syndrome. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
