What Causes Dizziness And Vomiting?

I woke up in the middle of the night. I was the so dizzy, nothing like I have ever experienced. I got myself kind of settled and then sat up. I felt like I was going to throw up so I went to the bathroom and I did throw up. I went back to sleep until 11:00 that morning, then I felt better. Later in the day I had a minor headache and did not feel completely okay so I just lied on the couch and the next day I felt better. My sister said she hear this same story and the lady was having a heart attack. So now I am concerned.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Dizziness & vomiting can be due to many reasons like anxiety, stress, fatigue, inadequate sleep, indigestion, BP & blood glucose issues, dehydration, problems in the ear(vertigo). However, dizziness and vomiting can be indicative of developing cardiac problems like MI, clogged arteries can cause syncope.

Chest tightness, pain, nausea, dizziness, palpitations are symptoms of AMI. You are suggested to get clinically examined. Get cardiac check up done, get all blood & Imaging tests done to detect any developing CAD so that you can be treated much ahead of time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
