What Causes Dizziness, Frequent Bowel Movement And Abdominal Pain After Intercourse?
My husband and I had intercourse on Sunday August 21st. I was supposed to start my period on the 22nd. I have not had any bleeding yet. But I have had some cramping and I have had more bowel movements than usual. I also have been feeling dizzy and a little tired. Is there a possibility I could be pregnant???

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Unprotected sex 1 day prior to the expected date of menses (in the last days of the menstrual cycle)...with a normal menstrual pattern cannot cause pregnancy.
Delay in menses could be due to conception with sex in earlier days of the menstrual cycle (confirmed by home pregnancy test)/hormonal imbalance due to weakness following loose motions or psychological stress/perimenopausal phase of life.
The weakness and dizziness can be due to long-standing loose motions & undernutrition following the digestive disturbances. You need a thorough physical examination & pathological tests to define your health concern & get specific treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
