What Causes Dizziness In Case Of Viral Meningitis?

My fiance has viral meningitis and was hospitalized for 2 days. They sent him home 4 days ago and said it would take 7-10 days for him to get better. He has gotten worse...dizziness, confusion, and nausea....all of which he had at the hospital, but it is far worse. Should he return to the ER or is this to be expected? (Does it get worse before it gets better?)
