Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Last nigh my husband got up from bed in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. When he went to the bathroom, he felt nauseous and dizzy and turned around to sit down. As he was doing this, he fainted. I heard the crash and walk in and saw him passed out on the floor. He woke up after i shook him shortly after. What happened? Should we be concerned? He is 60.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, I understand your question. The problem he had at age of 80 definitely needs concern, investigations & treatment. The symptoms are typical to cerebral insufficiency.( momentary less blood supply to brain). The common causes are- high blood pressure, cholesterol rise with plaque formation in carotid vessel, thromboembolism. Though nothing to be stressed- the condition is fully manageable, He needs consultation of a Neurophysician the earliest to be followed by investigations & specific treatment. Thanks.
Hello, Thank you for trusting HCM. Please visit your doctor for general check up on his heart health, plus if possible a neurologist for checking up if there is any head problems, checking is very important but you dont have to panic, but its worth to make sure all is going well, it could be due to sudden changes in blood pressure or due many other reasons, so a physical examination is important to get blood pressure heart rate and rhythm. best, Dr. Ahmad
