What Causes Dizziness, Nausea And Neck Popping While Lying On The Bed?

I am dizzy mainly when I first lie down in bed. When my head reaches the pillow the room begins to circle all around. It last for less than a minute and then it fades away. I have a nauseous feeling in my stomach that seems to be worse when lying down, however today it is staying with me while up and about. I also have a popping in my neck when I turn my head in certain positions. Are these related? I started with the neck symptoms, then came the dizziness when I first get out of bed, then came the dizziness when I first lie down in bed, and then came the nausea.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Spinning sensation is vertigo and there are different possible causes. In most cases, it is related to the inner ear. Inner ear causes include
(1) Vestibular neurontis- this is the most common of the inner ear causes. Vertigo and dizziness can last for hours at a time. May a history of recent viral infections. Medicines like Antivert, Dramamine may help.

(2) BPPV- benign paroxysmal positional vertigo- in this cases, the vertigo lasts for few seconds or minutes at a time. It occurs with certain head positions. Performing a maneuver called Epley maneuver, would help.

(3)Meniere's disease- associated with hearing loss and tinnitus. A low salt diet and the use of diuretics would help.
