What Causes Dizziness, Shivering And Fatigue After Exposure To Heat?

My husband is suffering from heat intolerance which causes dizziness, shaking, fatigue, and flushed skin. If he is exposed to even moderately elevated temperatures, especially outside while working, he is limited in his function and activities of daily living. He is 32 years old and diagnosed with Hoshimoto s disease. He has been rather therapeutic on medications for 5+ years. We have ruled out lupus and hypoglycemia. We are still seeking treatment. Most of his blood work is within normal limits. Are there any other suggestions or medical diagnoses to consider? Thanks

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, if your husband is still on treatment for Hashimoto's disease, you must consider consultation for dose modification.
This is because, such heat intolerance is a classical symptom of Hyperthyroidism, where as Hashimoto's causes Hypothyroidism. It is possible, that the thyroid drugs your husband is taking now are having their adverse reaction due to their high dose.
If your husband is not taking any medication now, even then it is advisable to get the thyroid hormone levels done again. This is because, Hashimoto's can sometime run a chronic course and endocrine co-morbidities are not uncommon.

Take care,
Regards
