What Causes Dizziness, Sleepiness And Abdominal Pain After Taking Diltiazem?

My Mother takes Diltiazem 120mg Tablets 3 times a day and she gets very dizzy and sleepy very much I have noticed that she itches more than usual. She also complains very much about abdominal pain she has had Gall Bladder and Stones removed. As we were reading what Diltiazem 120mg contains we seen that it contains Cocaine now is this Medication Habit Forming. And do the other Medications interact at all. She also takes Pantoprazole SOD DR 40mg Tablet 1time per day, Eliquis 5mg Tablet takes 2 times per day, Sertraline HCL 25mg Tablet 1 time per day, Atorvastatin 10mg Tablet. She also takes OTC B12.

Hi,

I have read your query & can understand your concern. If your mother is getting dizzy with Diltiazem than you should report to the treating doctor because she is experiencing a side effect of the same.

The dosage can be reduced or some other medication can be given as a substitute that suits her better.

She is getting constipated & getting abdominal pain due to inactivity, let her do regular morning walks & exercises. Consult the treating doctor, do not stop any medication by yourself.
