I am 52 years old, overweight, no HTN, no high cholesterol, hypothyroid w / MNG. MY ECG says sinus rhythm, minimal high -lateral repolarization disturbance, probalbly aspecific change. flat or low negative T in aVL. normal variant of ECG. but...I have had a few epsiodes of tachyicardia and lightheadedness, SOB sometimes. I go for my echo this week and see a cardiologist soon, but I want to know possibilities. I can papate an irregulate beat also.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Seems like you do not have risk factors for coronary artery disease (I do not know your family medical history), and this is good.

I would say that cardiac disease may be present in people without risk factors.

If you were my patient, I would recommend you to do an ECG, a cardiac sonography and based on that a 24 h or more ECG Holter monitoring.

It might be atrial fibrillation, a very common cardiac arrhythmia, that need treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anila Skenderi
