What Causes Dizziness Upon Getting Up From Sitting Position?

My husband it seems got up too quickly from the sofa, walked across the room, got very dizzy and fell. I don t believe he fainted, but was very confused for a few minutes. He was able to get up and sit in a chair, still very dazed. He broke out in a cold sweat. Gave him some ice water which he asked for , then he felt better and stopped sweating. Of course his back is sore from the fall. He has gotten dizzy before - laying down to a standing position.

Welcome at HCM
I appreciate your health concerns
What is his age? Is he diabetic? Is he using any medicines? What about his blood pressure reading?is this event occur before?
Based upon the history it is probable that he may got low blood pressure or low sugar. He should pay atleast a single visit to his physician so that appropriate workup can be done.there is need to get his bp reading along with blood sugar and ECG.
May he get well soon
Regards
