What Causes Dizziness Upon Standing Post Cut On The Head?

Hi, I m 28 and I ve hit my head on the corner of a window as I stood. There is a little cut and some blood. The whole area close to the hit went numb and was extremely painful. 20 minutes later I can t walk because I get dizzy (feel as if head is getting hot and body stars sweating) I m ok if I sit still. Should I get checked out? Thanks

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would like to explain that your symptoms seem to be related to a head concussion or to an autonomic reaction to the pain.

It is a normal reaction.

I recommend having some rest and avoiding possible further head traumas in the next days. A good hydration would be necessary.

If your situation doesn't improve in a couple of days, or even worsens, i recommend going to the ER for a physical examination and a brain CT scan, to exclude possible delayed intracranial hemorrhage.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best wishes!
Dr. Iliri
