What Causes Dizziness While On Rosuvastatin?

Currently on 10mg Rosuvastatin after PCP indicated I needed to be on statins due to elevated cholesterol. I am feeling light-headed (sometimes dizzy), muscle ache throughout my body and told I am moody by my significant other. I was on Atorvastatin prior but it caused my hair to thin and once again very moody. My preference is to not be on statins due to the many side affects I ve heard/read about. I am trying to exercise and eat healthy, but sometimes difficult. I am also tapering off Effexor 37.5mg, originally 150mg, then to 75mg and now 37.5. It was recommended to take 37.5mg qod and have not taken an Effexor for 4 days now. Just wondering whether the tapering of Effexor is causing some of the symptoms. Please advise - I plan on discussing with my PCP.

Hi,

The only problem I see in your case is psychological/anxiety caused by tapering Effexor.

Rosuvastatin can also cause muscle aches and weakness. You can try to stop taking it for a week and see if the symptoms will persists. But should continue taking Effexor as prescribed by your doctor.

To counteract the effects of statins we do recommend taking Ubiquinol Q10 supplement. Try it and let me know how it goes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
