I take several medications for high blood pressure. Now my readings are systolic in the 120-160 range. Usually high at night and very low in the mornings. I have in the past several days stopped taking 100 mg of Losartan, and I feel much better, but I am still very dizzy most of the time. I am still taking Nifedipine 30 mg. once a day., Atorvastain 40 mg once a day, carvedilol, 12 mg. twice a day, cetirizine 5 mg once a day for allergies, chlorthalidone 25 mg a day once a day and a clonidine patch 0.2 mg, which I change once a week. Should my blood pressure exceed 180, I have a 25 mg. hydralazine tablet that I can take and if needed an additional 25 mg. tablet one hour after taking the first one. I am completely taking responsibility for removing the larsartan. And in a couple of weeks I plan to discontinue taking one more tablet that is causing my dizziness. My primary physician will INCREASE any of my meds, but she is very reluctant to REMOVE OR DISCONTINUE any of them. Since I cannot continue life with so much dizziness, I am researching which of the drugs I am currently taking might be the culprit. Thanks for any suggestions. I do not expect any one to take responsibility, except me, for my decisions.
