What Causes Dizziness While Standing Up?

Hi, my question is, a few times after getting up to walk from either driving or siting at my desk, I had a feeling for a short second or two that made it feel like I was almost dizzy or walking through a tunnel. The feeling came and went. It never happens when I am sitting at my desk or driving? Its random and has happened only recently 3 or 4 times. I do not take any medications, and in great shape. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
You have not mentioned your age.
If you are elderly then this problem might be due to pinched nerve pressure due to some degenerative changes in your cervical vertebrae.
Go for x-ray cervical spines for osteo-artheritis of cervical vertebrae.
Another cause might be having postural hypotension also called Orthostatic hypo-tension.
Go for measuring your blood pressure in lying, sitting and standing position waiting every time for a minute or two.
If there is marked fall in BP from lying down to standing position confirms postural hypo-tension.
If require you may take Vertin medicine.
Ok and take care.
