What Causes Dizziness While Traveling?

Diagnosed with left horizontal nystagmus, and BPPV. Hi pitch hearing loss, tinnitus, and fullness in right ear. BPPV has been resolved through physical therapy (canalith repositioning). MRI was non remarkable. Still having dizziness when traveling in a car or shaking/turning head. Retested for nystagmus and it was again negative. Currently in week 20 of physical therapy. The dizziness is different from the BPPV. What could I be suffering from now. Or is this residual a I’ve got to get used to it??

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Dizziness and Nystagmus may be due to BPPV or acute viral labyrinthitis or vestibular neurinitis etc..
It may take weeks to months to recover.
Avoid high risk activities. Use water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.
Use vestibular sedative drugs and anti inflammatory drugs.
May be need for antibiotics, if symptoms not improved please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
