What Causes Dizziness With History Of Thyroid Gland Removal?

I have 102 over 58. Some symptoms of dizziness and lightheadedness. Also have only half a thyroid as almost 30 years ago I had nodules and half the thyroid was removed. I have thyroid checked annually and so far have not needed to take medication. Could the thyroid be related here? Otherwise healthy almost 68 old.

Welcome and thank you for asking!

The fact that you do not need to take medication after thyroidectomy, means that the other half compensates the function of the removed lobe.
As far as the thyroid function is within the normal ranges you are not supposed to have systemic symptoms like dizziness ect.

Continue to monitor your thyroid gland once yearly and try to find another cause your actual symptoms.

I would suggest to monitor the blood pressure and do a general check up if you haven't done it lately.

It will be a pleasure to answer further questions.
Wish you good health,

Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
