What Causes Dizziness?

My husband is feeling dizzi from last 10 days and this is for the second time it had happened in 1 year. We went to ENT Specialist, he asked us for MRI - IAM. The reports are normal. could you please help me understand what could be the reason for the same. Is is something serious about it ? I am worried we have still 3 weeks to visit the specialist again. Could you please help ?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
The dizziness your husband is suffering from is called vertigo.
Although MRI is normal there are many reasons for vertigo to occur that can not be picked up upon MRI or other investigations.
Hence is the need for a detailed clinical evaluation, neurological examination, ENT examination you have got done already.
Other causes than tumor of the cerebellum are.
Neuronitis of the vestibilocochlear nerve.
Cervical spondilitis.
Affection of the semicircular canals.
And so on.
Precautions to be taken:
Never leave patient alone.
Do not allow to go near fire and water ponds.
Not to use staircase alone.
No driving.
And proper medical treatment as advised by your Doctor.
