What Causes Dizziness, nausea And Pain In Ear?

I ve had tonsilitis for a little over a week now. Been on antibiotics for five days and my throats almost better. But now I m beginning to have pretty bad ear ache and I feel dizzy and nauseous. Do you think that im feeling dizzy from my ears? Or could it be that I haven t eaten much this last week?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear user!
Welcome to HCM!

Your symptoms as you are describing indicate a middle ear infection. Since you had an infection of your throat or tonsils before, now you have the most common complication of it: OTITIS.

You may feel dizzy, have high temperature, head or ear ache, leaking from the ear etc. The best option for this situation is a cure with antibiotics. Augmentin twice daily would be a good choice. You may use otic drops like Paroticin for the infection of the outer channel of the ear, Ibuprofen for the pain and cetirizin once daily for the dizziness.

Take care and best wishes!
Dr Eriol.
