What Causes Dizzy Spells In An Elderly Person?

hello. My stepfather is 75 yrs. old and has been having dizzy spells lately. To a point where he loses his balance and almost (and sometimes does) fall to the floor. He says it happens mostly after he eats, but we have witnessed him doing this before he eats also. do you know what could cause this?

a.     Arrhythmia
b.     Heart block
c.     Stroke
d.     Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo
e.     Internal ear problem
f.     Electrolyte imbalance
Advice
1.     Take bed rest for few days
2.     Cinnarizine 25 mg every 8 hours orally on fresh onset of dizziness
3.     Investigations
a.     MRI of brain
b.     ECG
c.     Serum sodium & potassium
d.     Blood sugar (F & PP)
Consult a heart specialist for further management
