What Causes Dizzy Spells Post A Workout?

Hi, I m a healthy, fit, post menopausal 52 woman (5 2 , 135 lbs), leading a relatively clean lifestyle (no drugs, no meds, no supplements, no smoking). My only vice is coffee, which I try to limit to 2 cups per day. I m careful to stay hydrated. For the past 10 to 12 weeks, I have been having dizzy spells, not to the point of fainting, but seeing stars . This occurs 1-3 times per week, usually following a workout or activity. Then, I have periods of time, almost every day where I m light headed. I saw my Dr and she noted I have BP of 97/62. This is a change for me. Last year BP was more 111/78. Stress test showed nothing. Do you have any ideas?

Oncologist 's  Response
Hello,

Some people experience a more rapid drop. This can happen during any type of exercise but may be more common when you fail to cool down after a vigorous workout. When you're exercising, your heart and muscles are working in overdrive. They keep the blood pumping so that your muscles can get the oxygen they need.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Esmeralda Sera, Oncologist
