I was supposed to see an oral surgeon to have a tooth removed and it was January 23. But the oral surgeon couldn t see me to April 4 which is in around 3 weeks from now. A week ago I was noticed double vision or blurry vision at times. Could that be from the tooth and once it is pulled the condition should be stopped with my vision?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Double vision is also called diplopia can be due to ocular muscle paralysisphoria. Squint can be anisometropia due to amblyopia of one eye. Refraction should be done if error found then it should be corrected. Eye doctor should examine every aspect of the eye. It cannot be due to tooth problem. If required it can be extracted or root canal treatment can be done and this will not affect vision. It is only a misnomer they are separate entity.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions. Regards, Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
