What Causes Double Vision, Urinary Problem Along With Breathing And Swallowing Difficulty?

my friend has double vision, trouble eating/swallowing, trouble breathing at times and he can t keep his eye lids open and could not urinate the other day and had to go to the hospital to get catheterized. He now has to catheterize himself and they are testing him for MS and something that begins with an M. Can you shed some light on this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely he is checked for MS (multiple sclerosis) and MG (myasthenia gravis). These are two neurological conditions that may cause problems with the nerves and muscles.

Due to his neurological symptoms, changes in vision, problems with eating and swallowing, trouble with urination and aslo with breathing, he needs to have proper checks to rule out these neurological conditions and get the proper treatment.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
