What Causes Drowsiness And Headache After Hitting Head Accidentally?

Hi! I hit the top (Parietal close to frontal part) of my head while picking clothes up from the floor this morning (like 9-10 hours ago). I have a mild headache and feels like pressure or tightness and after I hit my head I felt sleepy (still do), should I go to sleep? and is it serious?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

In case you are sleepy without taking any sleeping pill while you have pain and tightness all the time. I would advise to get examined by your family doctor or at ER get examined, get investigations done as per needed advise before you go to sleep. If the hit was strong it can cause harm so let's exclude it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
