What Causes Drowsiness And Rashes On The Neck After Taking Oncotrex?

I just had one dose of 10 mg oncotrex tablet for psoriatic arthritis .I was drowsy for two days and also got some rash on the back of my neck which is itchy. I am not sure whether the rash is due to insect bite or aside effect of the drug. This medicine was prescribed by a general physician. He has also advised me to take folic acid. Now my question is can I reduce the strength of the medicine to 5mg or even 2.5mg once a week?

Hi,

The rashes on the neck with drowsiness is side effect of methotrexate drug content consumed in form of Oncotrex. As this indicates drug sensitivity , any further dose reductions will present with the same issue.

I do not recommend to consume further doses, rather consult office of your doctor and discuss for the alternatives.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
