Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi doctor, i had some fungal (I think so) infection in thighs. So, i took an anti-fungal cream from meical store (Cipla). now after 3 day use....infection is cured. but i saw today that skin on my testis looks strange. it look like the skin snakes leave during metamorhosis. It is shining and plastic type. And skin is quite loose (although it is normal in summer). I feel worried......is it a serious issue??
The skin over a fungal infection area can be friable and weak. When one uses a cream over the area, the fungus would be eradicated and with the healing, some of the older skin may come off as well.
This skin is likely to be a little dry and scaly.
This is usually normal if the skin underneath the skin that pealed off is looking healthy. There should be no pain, itching, or pus.
In the future, wearing loose cotton clothing and showering twice a day can help. Along with this, trimming groin hair to reduce fungal growth and maintain hygiene can help as well. Many people find using moisturising cream useful as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards, Dr. Vignan Rachabattuni
