Hello doctor, my son age 8 yrs is having cough for the past 2 weeks, in the day time he is OK but at night he could not sleep even for 2 hour as he has cough which is dry, his ribs runs and he is unable to breathe properly. Have shown to doctors who advised several syrup like Alex, Aziwok, Gixim and antibiotic like Zedocef CV100DT but problem remains the same. Please help..
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of dry cough despite taking Zedocef CV, Aziwok and Alex which seems to due to lung infection leading to upper respiratory tract infection / bronchitis. I would suggest you to visit pediatrician once and get it examined. You should get pulmonary function tests and X-ray chest done. You should take cough expectorants. You should do warm saline rinses 3-4 times a day. You should avoid cold carbonated beverages. Apply mist humidifiers in room. Take antibiotic Levofloxacin along with Anti-inflammatory medication such as Levocetrizine.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
