What Causes Dry Cough, Sore Throat And Neck Pain?

I have had a dry cough now for over a month. Last monday I came down with a sore throat and my ear plugged up. Just yesterday I started getting pain in my neck. My tonsils are the size of golf balls, I am still coughing alot - mostly a dry cough but can rattle at times. My ear is still plugged and ringing loudly and now I have this neck/shoulder pain that is radiating and causing my arm to feel funny. I m worried.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to your respiratory tract infection. I would recommend using anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three times a day.

I recommend using a cough suppressant. You should drink a lot of liquids and rest. If the symptoms continue you should take prescribed antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
