General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of dry cough for 6 days, development of chest pain under left breast that increases on coughing only. The most probable causes are as follows:
- Dry cough can be due to granular pharyngitis
- Allergy to something in home, office, atmosphere.
- Problem with lungs and its components like bronchitis, asthma, pleurisy.

The chest pain could have been due costochondritis, pleurisy that is inflammation of the pleura, coverings of the lungs. This can be diagnosed by consulting a Doctor for clinical examination, investigations of the blood, X-ray chest and CT scan if a deeper problem is thought about. The treatment is partly symptomatic in the form of anti-tussive like cough suppressant. Anti-inflammatory for the chest pain. Further management as per the findings.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
