Recently, my throat had been so sore that I couldn t swallow anything- not even water. I lost my voice completely, but didn t have any cough or running nose. My neck glands were a little swollen..but not much to worry about. Now, after my throat has gotten better, I have this horrible cough. It started out phlegmy and green chunky phlegm and stuff, but now it s a harsh dry cough. I feel my lungs quiver when I have to breathe in to cough and even talking produced this dry cough. Should I worry it s not just a cold? It also gets worse when I lay down.
Hi, thanks for your query. In my opinion, you might be having infection of your tonsil along with the lung infection. If I were your treating doctor, I would have prescribed penicillin antibiotics + anti inflammatory medicines like paracetamol + diclofenac combination drugs twice daily for 3 to 5 days. Steam inhalation daily twice may be helpful. Expectorant cough syrup 10 ml thrice daily for 5 days. If symptoms persists, then please consult with your doctor and get evaluated. Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
