What Causes Dry Mouth, Blurred Vision, Shaking And Irregular Heartbeat?

I had taken 10 pills of Nytol 50mg so about 500mg last night and the night before I had also taken the exact amount, last night I was vomiting, had a extremely dry mouth, blurred vision, shaking, irregular heartbeat, was going to the bathroom a lot but it hurt to go, I was also nauseated, and feeling sleepy, tired but I couldn t sleep at all. Now today I m shaking like crazy, I have chests pains near my heart but I ve been having them a lot lately but it hurts more then usual, my heartbeat is still irregular, my mouth is still dry, I ve been forgetting a lot of things today, I feel light headed, and disoriented, I was hallucinating last night and I still am. But then again I have depression, anxiety, and I possibly might have to take pills for seeing/hearing things and other things, my body has a numb feeling but tingly at the same time, and my head is hurting a lot, like sharp pains, I feeling like I can t breath but I can but its hard to, then again I have Asthma and I ve been coughing up yellow green stuff up before I toke those pills, I also am a diabetic... And I also smoke... I don t know why but I have a feeling of wanting to take more because I think that will help me but I know it won t but I feel really bad today and they kinda make me feel good. I m feeling other things that I can t discribe... I don t know what to do.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

One possibility is heart rhythm disorders such as SVPT--Supraventricular paroxysmal tachycardia.

You should check your pulse and EKG? Another possibility is MVP or mitral valve prolapse (common in 40% of people) --it can lead to similar symptoms.

One way to abort these attacks is to pinch your nostrils and blow hard through your mouth.

This is called Valsalva's manouevre. Alternately feel the carotid artery inside the sternocleido mastoid muscle in your neck--(any doctor can show you) on any one side of neck and gently massage.

This will also abort the attack. But never do it on both sides simultaneously.

Personally I do not think they are panic attacks considering your personality. And instead of 25 mgs of Metoprolol, Verapamil 120mg SR or Propranolol 10 mg twice a day will keep you under control.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
