What Causes Dry Mouth With Soreness/painful In Tongue?
hi, I have had a very bad dry mouth with my tongue getting sore and painful for about 2 months. My GP has taken me off of a lot of meds and that didn't work. All bloodwork was good so He sent me to ear, nose and throat Dr and he put me on antibiotics for possible infection in my tonsils. I have improved but still have dry mouth. Any other suggestions? I have MS but they don't think it is related.
I have gone through your query and can understand..
As per your complain dry mouth or Xerostomia is leading to sore and painful tongue and dry mouth can occur due to a number of conditions like Oral infections like Thrush, salivary gland disorders, nerve damage, side effect of medicines, hormonal imbalances etc.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis of the underlying cause and treatment can be planned accordingly.. As of now you can gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine for relieving soreness, chew sugarfree chewing gum for increasing saliva flow, avoid spicy food and drink plenty of water.. Maintain a good oral hygiene..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
