What Causes Dry Skin And Abdominal Pain While On Isotretinoin Myorsian?

Hi, I just started the generics isotrention myroisan 40mg once daily, I m having normal symptoms of dry skin and dehydration but also have been having abdominal pain (at rest and pain to the touch), diarrhea, stomach sounds/gurgling. My dermotologist is out of the office and I was wondering what I should do?

Hello,

Dry skin, dehydration, dry mouth, stomach pain associated with loose stools are side effects of taking Isotretinoin Myorsian. You should inform your treating dermatologist so that the dose can be reduced or medicine replaced by other drug that suits you better.

You are suggested to reduce dose or stop taking the medicine as it is causing adverse effects. Continuing to take the medicine may cause serious side effects like painful swallowing, vomiting, severe diarrhea, rectal bleeding etc. You can take anti diarrheals like Loperamide (Imodium) and antacids for relieve.

To get relieve from stomach ache take Spasmol (spasmoproxyvon), one sos when required. You can take PPI's to reduce acid reflux & gurgling.
