What Causes Dry Spot In Throat Causing To Cough Whole Night?
Hi, I m having a problem with a dry spot in my throat. This spot is on either the side of my throat but never both side at the same time. It causes me to have a cough all night. Nothing seems to help but sipping very cold water. Have to repeat this several time a night . Never a problem during the day. Help I need some sleep!
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood your history. You have a feeling of a dry spot in the throat, it is changing in position, makes coughing all the night but never in the day time. A bit relieved by cold water at night. The most probable causes of such problems may be granular pharyngitis associated with post-nasal drip. This is more persistent and collects in the throat in the night only causing you the problem. I would advise you to consult an ENT Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination, investigations if required and treatment as per the findings. In the meantime start decongestant nasal drops and steam inhalation to reduce the symptoms.
