What Causes Dry Tickly Cough?

I have had a dry tickly cough, which feels like someone is putting pressure on the back of my throat , particularly at night, when I cough my shoulders keep going cold and tingly. I have been taken cough medicine, the first day I took this was after a week of having it and it made my throat feel like it was closing up

Hi,
This dry tickly cough which might be associated with hawking or frequent throat clearing is frequently caused by dripping of nasal secretions from behind the nose. It could be due to allergy too.
So,its better to start on mucus solvents and antihistamines.
