What Causes Drying And Closing Of Throat And Coughing?

My throat starts getting very dry and feels like there is something touching the back of my throat...then I start to cough and my throat locks up and I dry heave until I think I will pass out and then it suddenly releases..I was given the name of this condition several years ago but I can t remember it...it had stopped for a couple of years but has started up again..I have to keep hard candy or cough drops around to help stop it.

with this presentation, your drying of throat could be due to nasal obstruction secondary to sinusitis. any way, evaluate with an ent surgeon for the exact cause and definitive treatment.
