What Causes Dryness And Itchy Feeling In The Vagina Post Intercourse?

My boyfriend and I had sex a lot while he was home from basic training. My vagina seemed to be tighter everytime and there developed pain when inserting him. It went away pretty soon. Days after I now feel itchy, sore, and dry. What s going on? The skin feels rough and I can t insert anything without pain. My boyfriend is rather thick.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Genital itching after sex can sometimes be due to dry skin or a lack of lubrication around the genital area.

In cases where itching persists, this symptom can be a sign of an infection, allergic reaction, or sexually transmitted disease. I'd suggest get VDRL test done just to rule out things.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
