What Causes Dryness In Mouth During Nights With Swelling In Hands?

I have experienced dry mouth at night for about two weeks; I wake up to find that my tongue sticks to my teeth and my lips are sealed topgether. when I move my tongue I am able to moisen my teeth and lips and then I drink some water, but this recurs up to three times per night. My wrists have been painful for about ten days, with swelling of the hands. Could there be some connection here
