What Causes Dryness In The Mouth And Lips?

Hello sir my name is shaik I have a heavy mouth dryness problem,inner cheeks and inner lips are cracked,this problem is facing from around 3months,before I use to smoke 10 to 15 cigarettes per day but I quit 1month ago,still the problem is growing day by day,I did few blood and urine checkups everything is good,only have poor vitamin D deficiency,am taking tablets for that am also consuming calcium 600 mg tablets from 2 days,I don't know what is the problem please help me with your opinion, my age is 25,I also checked diabetes and the reading is 92 in fasting and 102 after meal,I also did hiv test it's negative,please suggest me and help me with your experience

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

It is appearing to be severe dry mouth or Xerostomia..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get your salivary glands evaluated and along with it you should also get tested for the autoimmune disease that is Sjogren's syndrome..
Also drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration as it is also a common cause for dry mouth..
If you are taking any medication then it can also cause dry mouth..
For now you can start symptomatic treatment to reduce dryness and lubricate the mouth like chew sugar free chewing gum, use oral lubricants like Oragel, instil salivary drops that contains methyl cellulose.
Use specialised mouthwash like Magic mouthwash.
