What Causes Dryness In Throat Along With Cough And Shortness Of Breath?

I have a cough and sometimes shortness of breath. Almost feels like the air is being pushed out of me. Then sometimes it feels like my throat is instantly dry and I need to cough. In the morning I blow my nose a lot and cough some yucky green stuff up, but after I have a cup of tea, that stops.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to sinusitis which is an infection of the sinuses. I recommend to use a saline nasal spray for the nose. I also suggest to drink liquids. To treat the cough you can try cough suppressant as Dexometorphan. If the symptoms continue you may need oral antibiotics, so you should consult an ENT specialist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
