Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dryness In Throat And Excessive Thirst?
For a few months now I ve been constantly thirsty. I count my ounces and often down 140-160 oz a day (I m 120 lbs). It s just normal water - not caffeine or sugary drinks. My throat is extremely dry, but my mouth is not. I m not dehydrated (no problems crying or sweating), nor do I exercise beyond ensuring I get in a minimum of 10,000 steps a day. I was tested for diabetes, but that came back negative. I ve tried biotine for my throat, but it doesn t help with the dryness or thirst. Any ideas?
Were you tested for both Diabetes Mellitus and Diabetes Insipidus? It could also be many other things. You will need more laboratory tests like your urine and blood samples to check for abnormalities and hormone levels. Are you male or female? How old are you?
