What Causes Dryness, Itching And Discoloration In Anal Area?

Hi, I am an 18 year old female, within the last year I have developed dry, itchiness, and discoloration in my anal area. I am not sexually active nor do I use any harsh products or have allergies. The area is a pale purple with visibly dry, flaky skin that is very itchy. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hello,

Of your hygiene(wear cotton underwear), Vaginal yeast infections can also cause infection in the anal area, Scabies and pin-worms are other factors to cause such symptoms. Keep your fingernails short.

Get physically examined. You can take anti-parasite medications like Albendazole/Mebendazole under a consultant. Apply Hydrocortisone ointment in the area affected to get rid of the itching.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
