What Causes Dryness On Throat And Mouth?

MY mouth is getting dry very offen. Now throat is also started getting dry. Sometimes tounge is paining. front end of tounge in irritatting. Left side jaw joint is paining while opening mouth. I am not smoking and not chewing tobacco. Iwas taking Alcohol everyday. But I have stopped from last 2 months. Pl advise.

As per your complain dryness in mouth and throat can be due to a number of causes like salivary gland disorders, nerve damage supplying the salivary glands, oral infections like thrush,mouth breathing,side effect of certain medicines etc..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can chew sugar free chewing gums and suck sour candies to stimulate saliva flow..
Gargle with specialized mouthwash formulated for dry mouth conditions containing methylcellulose..
You can also use artificial saliva drops to be instilled in mouth for lubrication..
Drink plenty of water..
Avoid regular mouthwash as it has a drying effect..
