What Causes Dull Headaches That Comes And Goes?

I ve had a dull headache that comes and goes for maybe about a week now. Could it be something serious?I m 25, 5 6 , 300lbs, have had an issue with my pituitary gland over producing progesterone if i remember correctly and took cabergoline and it worked. I think the problem has been coming back though.

Hi,

Dull headaches can be caused by a number of things, sleep deprivation, caffeine overuse or withdrawal, migraine and many others. With your pituitary issue, that is a concern however. Pituitary adenomas are common and hyperprolactinemia for these adenomas are successfully treated using Cabergoline. If you are having symptoms of an elevated prolactin level, such as irregular menstrual cycles, unexplained infertility, milk production from the breasts these would all indicate that the prolactin levels are increasing again and that you need this treated.

There are a number of surgical procedures as well which would be curative for this condition so that may be a consideration for you in the future. In my experience with patients having this issue it is better to seek treatment sooner rather than later so I would definitely get this looked into as soon as possible. I am sorry for your difficulties, these sounds very disconcerting to say the least.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
