What Causes Dull Pain On Calf?

Earlier today I started to have a dull pain that would shoot in and out of my inner lower calf. It stopped for a while and came back this afternoon. I have recently started walking again on the treadmill. I am not overweight but a little out of shape. 32, 5'4" 128lbs Female smoker.
