Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of ear blockage and cough after taking Prednisone which is due to frequent ear infections. The symptoms you mention in query can occur due to simple ear wax to more serious acoustic neuroma like condition. Such symptoms can also occur due to condition like post nasal drip or Eustachian tube dysfunction . I would suggest you to :-
- Take steam several time a day . - Do warm saline gargles . - Drink glass of warm water with one spoon of honey in it .
Prednisone can be used for allergy , but if your hace infection it will not going to work. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist once and get it examined. Doctor may order certain test like audiometry , CT scan, low and high pitched ringing to rule out underlying systemic conditions. Doctor may treat it according to the diagnosis , he/she may prescribe medicine like eprisone and antibiotics.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
